President – Desmond Yee (UOL, BSc. Information Systems & Management)
Appointment holding term: Jan 2010 – Current
A free-lance photographer himself, Desmond sets the direction of the club and is the main contact point between the club and SIM student care and services. He is also involved in planning and raising proposals to SIM and to delegate tasks and duties to the various ex-co members. Also, Desmond designs the publicity materials for the club’s events & outings.
Desmond started doing photography in 2008. He bought his 1st DSLR with the intention of capturing moments for an overseas trip but soon began falling in love with his new found form of Visual Arts.
At present, while pursuing a degree from the University of London, he freelances in photography, web design and print media services.
Vice-President – Felix Ker (UOL – BSc. Business)
Appointment holding term: Jan 2010 – Current
Deputy to the president, Felix’s role is to assist the president and to ensure the club’s proceedings and operations are in coherent order. In the absence of a director due to other commitments, the President and Vice-President also will assume the role and duties of the director to ensure activities are in kept to standing procedures. Felix manages the club’s website and handles the updates as well as the design of the site.
Felix is a hobbyist photographer, part time blogger, programmer & technology enthusiast who sees codes as poetry. He took up photography in 2006 to snap all the valuable moments in his life.
Currently spending most of his time studying, shooting casually and answering to the questions asked on www.askGabe.sg.
Club Secretary / Treasurer - Lin Lin (UOL – BSc. Accounting & Finance)
Appointment holding term: Jan 2010 – Current
Lin Lin, being the club’s secretary basically has her hands at most of the club’s administrative activities. She works hand in hand with the President and his deputy to ensure the proper documentation of the club and its activities. Lin Lin also has another crucial role in the club as she is the one person maintaining the club account and holding the cash collected from members and funds from SIM. She also advices the club on the issue of funding for programs and events.
Lin Lin loves the feeling of observing the world through her lens, love the feeling of pressing the shutter and love the feeling of capturing the decisive moment.
Apart, she loves her boyfriend, 40D along with her 17-40mm f/4 L and of course, Singapore!
Events Director – Azan Alfian (UOL – BSc. Banking & Finance)
Appointment holding term: Jan 2010 – Current
The Project director, Azan Alfian role in a fundamental basis plans, propose and executes the activities and outings of the club. Assisted by his team which mostly tasked with managing activities of the club such as student week, photo shoot outings and exhibitions.
Azan got interested in photography during a trip to Bali 2 years ago. He’s just a regular guy just trying to take photos with his old but beloved 300D.
He loves to capture moments from different genres & believe that these essential moments last a lifetime through the view of his eyes.
Public Relations Director – Andrew Loh (UB – BSc. Business Administration)
Appointment holding term: Jan 2010 – Current
The Communications Relations Head, Andrew is responsible for the channels of interaction the club has with it’s members as well as groups outside the club such as the other CCA clubs of SIM as well as other entities who share the same interest.
Beliving in how a picture speaks a thousand words, look through the eyes of Andrew Loh. He started photography at the tender age of 17 when he had nothing more than a simple Nikon D70. He was soon spotted and was taken under the wings of Pigs Can Fly photography and has since moved to specialize in Sports, Portrait and Events photography 5 years later. Andrew aims to continue bringing joy to many by his images.
Objectives:
Outings to be conducted at least once a month. The aim is to forge friendships and have fun at the same time. Post-shoot can include coffee talk and critique sessions.
