We understand and apologize for the delay in the updates as we have had an overwhelming sign up for the photography recruitment during the students’ week.
As such we were planning administrative and activities for all of you, photography enthusiast =) Here are the up coming events:

1. General Meeting & Workshop

We will hold the general meeting first, and then followed by workshop. This workshop will be similar to previously conducted =) we strongly encourage for all members to come for the General meeting

For the membership fee will be charged $10 per semester

2. Outings

The outings will be organized on Monday, 23rd October 2006 at 16.00 Sharp. Full information will be given at general meeting ^ ^

1. Digital Life Canon Photo Marathon IV 2006

It’s here again! This year’s Digital Life Canon Photo Marathon IV 2006 promises to be bigger and bolder! The competition will be held at Suntec Convention Centre, Level 2 Theatre on Saturday 14 October 2006.

• Venue: Suntec Convention Centre, Level 2 Theatre
• Date: 14 October 2006, Saturday
• Time: 0800 – 2230hrs
• Category: Open
• Registration Fee: $10

On this competition, participant must complete all four assignments within twelve hours (three hours for each assignment) and submit each assignment on the time given. All photographs will be judged on the following key criteria:

• Creativity in theme interpretatio
• Use of colours and light/shadows
• Composition of photograph
• Relevance to theme

2. Museum Shop Banyan Tree’s Photo Competition

Museum Shop by Banyan Tree (MSBT) proudly presents the inaugural “Something
Old, Something New” Photo Competition. This theme reflects MSBT’s
philosophy of promoting Asia’s rich cultural heritage through creative
re-invention of museum artefacts into contemporary functional merchandise.

Members of the public are invited to send in their most creative/
thoughtful photo entries that demonstrate a juxtaposition of “old” & “new”
in a single image. There are no fixed rules that determine what qualifies
as “old” or “new” – which could range from traditional culinary traditions
to technological gadgets, old shophouses to a newborn puppy.

Top prizes include 5N stay at Banyan Tree Lijiang & Banyan Tree Ringha and
Sony’s latest Digital SLR camera.

We appreciate your assistance in disseminating the emailer to your students
and encouraging them to take part in the Student Category.

Please also advise if you are able to display an A3 poster on the
competition in your student area. Your support is much appreciated.
