The demand for the workshop were overwhelming in the state where we have to put some of the interested people in the waiting list.

Even though our club is a relatively a new club which means that we are in the process of growing and spreading the message of photography but as much as we want to learn, we also hope to gain more exposure with hands on practice on DSLR camera especially for first timers in photography. Having a re-known company coming to SIM to conduct this lesson, it was a memorable experience for those who are attending.

The workshop started at 2 p.m. sharp and the speaker started off with explaining the basic and technicalities aspect of photography.
We’ve looked at different elements of exposure on our digital SLR; aperture, shutter speed and ISO and have discovered what each of them is and what impact changing them will have on our images. And also understanding different modes of metering, exposure compensation and learning the rules of composition for the most impact as well.

We had a break at 4 p.m. and treat the speaker and attendees with the refreshments. After the break, the speaker distributes DSLR camera for each one of the student and we went off from the lecture theatre and start putting the knowledge into practice. We were walking around within the school premises to take any interesting encounter. Every members are required to present one of their best shots for the sharing sessions at the end of the workshop.

At about 5 p.m. we were heading off to the lecture theatre and start the sharing session. Every members gets to chance to vote the submitted pictures and those who gets voted share their technique and inspiration behind the shots. The speaker also brought the latest selphy printer with them and every members get a print of their shots.

We finished off the workshop by presenting the token of appreciation on the behalf of SIM and thanked the speakers for their time and effort.
